Terrorist Attacks

Whilst the bombings in London haven’t really had an effect on me, the bombings in Egypt have.
The attacks on London for myself have always been coming, and after Madrid, attacks on the Underground were most likely. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m no longer working and travelling in London, however both my Dad and my Mum’s boyfriend are in the area (my Dad was at UCL on Wednesday, Simon was on the scene of the number 30 bus within minutes).
It may be the lack of any iconic images, London only has a bus, whilst New York had two building collapsing, that I’m not glued to the TV or reading the newspapers, I just don’t know.
But it was a phone call yesterday which scared me. Only a few weeks ago my Mum and sister were in the hotel which was bombed by the suicide car bomber. They got to know the reception staff, the bar staff and possible some of the guests who were killed. For some reason what ever it is, I’m much more upset about this than London.

No Interweb

Due to the house move, we presently have no Broadband (or phone line).
Due to o2 being crap, I can’t get GPRS. 3 phone calls, 1 email and it’s still not working. I know what the problem is, and know what they need to do to fix it, however they keep telling me it’s a problem with the phone, which it isn’t.
They have 48 hours to sort it out, else I will deem it a breach of the contract, and finally move to Vodafone.

Naughty Blogger

Blogger has recently added an image upload facility. To ensure that everybody’s blogs didn’t fall apart, they’ve added this line of code before the text of each post.

<div style=”clear:both;”></div>

Which in turn has made most peoples blogs fall apart. Blogger claim to be looking into the issue. Surely the answer is just to remove that line of code.

All Grown Up

Today I signed the tenancy agreement for my first house under my own name (instead of being shared accommodation).
I’ve also been shopping with a credit card in Ikea and should have something to sleep on tomorrow.
Just need to wait for a phone line, broadband, a TV aerial before it will really feel like home.

Happy Birthday Blog

My blog is 1 year old today. Blog posts are now longer, but less frequent.

Since starting I’ve made several tweaks including, RSS Feeds, the I am …, Haloscan Comments (including being made a forum mod) and the Blogger Javascript Hack.

The top two stories have been Major ’24’ spoilers revealed due to this and 389 …doh thanks to Schneier on Security.

Because of my blog I built LibDemBlogs which has allowed me to develope my XML skills.

The most rewarding part of blogging, find search phrases which you are either at the top of Google, or where you are higher than an offical site 🙂

OK, the blog is 1 year and 1 day old, but Blogger lost the post I made yesterday
