It’s been over 6 months since I did post about switching to the Octopus Energy Agile tariff.
So how did it going during the colder months? Not exactly great. This was the 9th January.
Between 8.30am and 8.30pm the price was at least 100% higher than the “price cap” and for many of those hours it was 300% higher.
However those expensive months for me in January and February were then used to set the price for the cap during Spring, so whilst I had already felt the pain and started to see cheap prices again (at one point it was -10p kWh), others would get it later.
There have been weird moments when it’s been both very sunny and very windy where using the tumble drier instead of hanging clothes on the line would have worked in my favour.
