According to a new report today everyone will be paying inheritance tax by the year 2105. This of course is based on the judgment that the average house price will rise to £1,000,000 whilst the inheritance tax threshold will stay the same.
OK the later is unlikely to happen but this is exactly what the HBOS scare story today is claiming about the next 10 years.

Just trying to see if this will work.
Currently I have no money, I also like to help people with their blogs and webdesign.
Therefore if I’ve helped you, why not help me, by giving me money 🙂
Just fill the PayPal form in below, thank you.
My name is Ryan Cullen
I was thinking about this post, because when you Google my name, I appeared somewhere on the second page. Noting how Google was giving me some higher ratings, I felt a post with my actual name in it might push me above this person, but today when I went to check where I appeared I found myself top anyway.
Sky News, News for intelligent people
Today on Sky News at 1.30 they had a story about PMQ’s and they had their big banner on the screen. On the left in the red box it said “PM’S QUESTIONS” and on the right it had “Prime Minister Faced Questions in the Commons”.
Shocking stuff there then!
Clarke retreats over house arrest
I wish I had posted on this early, because I could have then said “told you so”.
It was pretty obvious that house arrest under order of the Home Secretary, was going to be the concession for the Lords, but it seems pretty silly to tell David Davis this before you debate the bill at the Commons stage.
Search Engines
I’ve been playing about with my webstats, looking at phrases which people used to find my blog.
24 Spoilers, is really popular at the moment (304 hits!), although I’m sure they are all disappointed with a story written in August 2004.
Javascript Hack and Drinks Promotions are currently making me feel lucky.
And rather amazing Arsenal New Ground is second behind the BBC, but above Arsenal.com!
Whilst we’re here, I only use Google to search, but the other day I was looking for the Windows Update page, I know that typing Windows on Google will give me the Microsoft Site, followed by the Windows Update page. However I was on the MSN website already, and assumed that a similar result would happen on their search engine. Nope, the first Microsoft site is 9th, after several double glazing sites.
ps. If you did/do click through from Google, you’ll have noticed that there’s a box at the top of the page asking you if you found the page useful, and to leave comments. Unfortunately, unless you host your blog on your own site, which has PHP enabled, and allows you to modify the .htaccess file, then I can’t offer help on making your own. Although I’m sure you could achieve the same thing with JavaScript.
pps. If you also notice that some of the titles on Google have the link as Hapless band of staff and regulars: Post Name, however the page title in your browser has Post Name: Hapless band of staff and regulars, this is because I’ve used PHP pattern matching to swap them around. If you want the code let me know.
State of Fear
As with other Michael Crichton books, you feel like you’re reading a research paper.
I really enjoyed this book, and whilst I’m pretty sure many of my friends will disagree with the message, it’s a really good read.

No ‘puter
I’ve managed to stuff up my computer so much that I can no longer use my mouse or keyboard when windows is running.
Back up discs and CDs aren’t working, so I’m a bit stuck.
Oh well, I’m sure Heather won’t mind that I’ve stolen her laptop.
You’re ‘avin’ a giraffe
Have discovered the Comedy Night at Lincoln Uni.
They have Stewart Lee, Mitch Benn and Richard Herring all coming up over the next few months 🙂
Yay for 1mb Wireless Internet
The internet is finally here, and with 2 PCs and 2 Laptops, I thought we might as well go wireless.
Hopefully I’ll be able to post more now, but I’ll leave that for another day, as I’m too tired.
