A new 4GB Memory Stick Duo Pro for my P990

Having a fancy new phone which has amazing video playback, the ability to run TomTom Navigator 6, store the A-Z of central London and be used as an MP3 player I decided that my 1GB memory card was just too small.
So I went out and purchased a 4GB card. With this I placed all the music from my hard drive (around 20 albums), TomTom, the A-Z, plus around 1.5hours worth of TV shows and found myself to have only used 2GB so far.
So for those of you who have a P990i, a W850i or even a PSP I would recommend this bloke on eBay for some of the cheapest (but original) Memory Stick Duo Pro’s.

P990 for £31

Trade Your P990Yesterday I received an email from Nectar advising me that they have a new partner mobile2points who will swap my old mobile phone for Nectar points.
In the email they wanted to know if I would swap my 4 month old phone for 6200 Nectar points. Wow thousands of nectar points, however 1 point is equal to 0.5p, so I make that £31 for a phone which is £399.99 new direct from Sony Ericsson, or £250 via eBay.
So I really don’t think they will be seeing my phone too soon.

ps. If you do have a phone which is in good nick, want a quick sale and more money than Nectar/mobile2points let me know.

Cheap flights in the Echo?

During this and last week the Lincolnshire Echo have been running a promotion with RyanAir to get 1p flights.
To get your cheap flight you need to buy 12 newspapers collecting the letters which appear each day. Next you need to rearrange these letters in to a 3 word passphrase to get the cheap flights via a special URL.
To put this offer to the test I went to the RyanAir website on the weekend to look at the price of flights if I booked them right now.
What did I find? The ability to book flights from 1p without the need for any Echo promotional code. My worry for the Echo readers is that they will wait until Saturday for the last letters to appear and then suddenly find all the cheap seats to have gone as other readers have got there first. To avoid this problem Heather and I booked two return flights to Dublin straight away all in for £67.96 from East Midlands Airport. Compared to the cost of getting a Saver Return to London of £105.40, it allows us to get a much nicer hotel room and hopefully we won’t have to stand all the way as well.

Black bag update

A follow-up to the post on Sunday regarding the black bags in Park Ward which are still on the streets. I’ve got an email from the officers informing me that they should be disposed of tomorrow.

Subject: RE: FW: Fly Tipping/Posting: 03224017
In an effort to look through all of these bags they were left in the street until an Enforcement Officer had looked through them all for evidence. This has now happened – a few addresses have been found and action will be taken. I have now told Cory that the bags can be collected and this will happen as part of the full cleanse of the street tomorrow.

I’ll just have to wait and see.

The awful state of Park Ward

After an email to the council on Thursday evening and with the rubbish still out on Saturday, I decided en route to the High Street I would take photographic evidence of the fly-tipping problem I’ve got not only in my ward, but metres from my house.
Black Bags
For over 10 weeks now we’ve been using wheelie bins in Park Ward, as the majority of the house have small alleyways we have two 120 litre bins. A brown one for recycling which is collected every other week (and if that’s full you can leave more to the side if it’s clearly recyclable waste) and a black one for landfill waste which is collected every week, but no side waste. This includes black bags which are no longer collected, however it seems that some households in Park Ward just don’t care and continue to dump and allow others to dump black bags outside their houses.
