This is mainly a question for Will, but others feel free to comment.
We are currently in Italy on a lovely weeks holiday, safe in the knowledge that finding a UK number plate was almost impossible. However as the picture shows, the Italians have CNPS style plates.
So do we count any plates found in Italy, or wait until we come home to carry on?
I can’t see a picture. However, the answer is no – British plates only. Them’s Richard Herring’s rules.

When I get a chance, I’ll upload the image (blogger was lying about emailing photos as attachments).
In the end I only managed to spot 4. They seem to have more “valid” number plates than the UK, but much harder to read when on the move.
