Hi just wondered if anybody have had any problems activatiing te maps on the p990i as i get the wrong activation code and tomtom are unwilling to help as the phone is not supported

Got a P990i on Orange network. Dowloaded plenty of versions of tomtom to try before I buy. Got the DVD and could not find and uiq3.cab or any other uiq3 for that matter. Getting hacked off with this now. Can someone mail me or send me something. Would really appreciate it. Alan elvisgraham@hotmail.com

James, I had problems with my original GPS unit (some cheap thing from MobileFun). So I got a Holux GPSlim236, sold the old one and it works perfectly. I can’t comment about the new firmware as I’m waiting for Vodafone to release it.

I have 2 gps units both of them connect but drop connection to the GPS unit every few minutes, i am sure it was working on the older firmware, i have the very latest as of 13th Jan 07

Anyone had problems activating the maps, everything loaded OK, but when I tried to activate, it said it was not valid for that map. Phoned SE they said not compatable with the P990i. Help please.

I’ll be damned. It worked. Formatted my memory stick from the p990i, and then unzipped all the contents of the uiq3 file to the memstick. Then it installed like a charm, and asked for maps and voices, which I am now installing. Thank you so much! It does NOT work installing it from TomTom Home on the memstick… At least not for me, it generates that silly expired certificate error..

It just one DVD which will work for Windows Mobile 2005 devices, new Nokia Symbians and UIQ3 (P990/M600/W950)
